Tommy Thompson Wins Republican Primary –

Tommy Thompson won a four way Republican primary for the open Senate seat of retiring Democrat Herb Kohl.  Eric Hovde came in second place after spending almost $5 million on the campaign.  Mark Neumann finished third and Jeff Fitzgerald was fourth.  Thompson is the former Governor of Wisconsin and will face Democrat Tammy Baldwin in November.  Recent polling data indicates that Thompson has more than a 5% point lead over Baldwin.
