Early Voting –

The standard get-out-the-vote (GOTV) drive does not apply in modern elections.  Voter turnout from early voting may account for over 30% of total votes cast for President.  Get out the vote drives are crucial in battleground states such as Colorado, Florida, Ohio, Virginia, and Wisconsin.  Early voting was scheduled to begin September 20th in Wisconsin and September 22nd in Virginia.  In 2008, early voting accounted for 78% of total votes in Colorado.
