The first of three Presidential debates takes place tonight in Denver Colorado with Jim Lehrer as the moderator. Mitt Romney is looking for a strong performance in the debate which might improve poll numbers. Currently, polls indicate that Romney is slightly behind Obama in the state of Colorado. Romney also trails Obama in Florida, Iowa, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Virginia. The largest battleground poll deficits for Romney are in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. Republican Senate candidates are polling much stronger in battleground states such as Virginia and Wisconsin.
